Thank you to John O'Connor and the Kiwanis Club of Westerville for donating 260 books to the library at Walnut Springs Middle School. On April 10th, 2016 forty-four students from ten schools in the Westerville City School District presented twenty-eight designs at the first annual Trash to Fashion Show. The show was held during the Nationwide Childrens’ Starry Night event located at North High School. Students were challenged to create a fashionable, wearable design from recyclable materials. Judging was based on coordination, styling and theme and three winners were chosen from each of the elementary, middle, and high school divisions. There were also special awards given for the design that best-incorporated the use of technology such as CDs, VHS tape, cables and similar items. A video and additional information can be found on the event website: http://trashtofashion.weebly.com
On October 8th, The Columbus Dispatch published a great article about our new library - The Center For Inspiration. To learn about other Westerville library news, please join our Facebook Group "Westerville Librarians".
